I would have parked over the line and right next to him. About 6 inches away. If you got close enough, you could still allow room for a third car, as the spaces were intended.

The issue I see though is in my area someone would just park between you and the ‘vette. But I would still park as you do in the hopes that people won’t be jackasses.

Best spot are the triangles next to a median on the end. Makes my nethers tingle.
